Back and Better (?) than Ever

It's time for my annual blog post!

Seriously, I've wanted to pick this blog up and give it a good shake and a lick of paint to get it back going. I recently revamped the look of it, but still made no progress to actually writing blog posts, or increasing readership- because you need readers for a blog to have some sort of purpose, I suppose.

Unfortunately I've had a long spell of stress and unorganization, which has snow balled since probably winter 2015 until quite recently. This meant a lot of my hobbies, interests and projects have been thrown on the backburner, and some nearly on the pyre. But I've come to realise that I need my silly projects and schemes to keep me going, when my brain is whirring and ticking like a manic clock. What's even worse is that my creativity seems to go out the window when I'm overly stressed, but it's one of the only things to calm me down and get me back on track! In est, why do I have to let things get so complicated?

Now that I decided to pay attention to the more loose, creative side of my brain again, I'm hoping I will get back into writing and telling my odd little tales. Some may seem banal, others may be overly nerdy, but I enjoy telling them. It was my childhood dream (like fifty million of my peers) to be an author some day. That dreamboat has sailed on a bit but I haven't decided to give up on writing completely. There was a point where I realised my style and prose wasn't anything prolific and I became thoroughly down-heartened, but I came to realise that: 1. You don't get better at writing unless you practise and study like everything else, 2. I don't have to be utterly prolific, I can be silly and messy and even a bit grammatically incorrect at times, and 3. Serious writers generally don't make lists in sentences.

So here I am carrying on carrying on (coming to the cinemas 2018, as if anyone would still make a Carry On film).
Hope you enjoy and join me for this adventure.

Until my next post in 2018,
Aoife

P.S My next post will actually be on Friday.
