Postcard: Navigating Through Netherlands

Hoi!

I've been in Netherlands for a few days for work and a few days break afterwards. I've managed to fit in a lot of locations in the one trip- Hoorn, Haarlem, Leiden and Amsterdam, and I've been loving it! I've seen all the stereotypical things; bikes, canals, windmills, farmland- though no one wearing clogs!
 In the smaller cities the pace and atmosphere is so relaxing, whereas Amsterdam is a bustling city, and you need good navigation skills so you don't end up at the same canal again and again. But I have to say I enjoy both in good measure. The weather has been pretty perfect and it feels good to be able to wear proper summer clothes again. I feel like I'm on holiday, even when there's work to be done, and I’m also treating myself a bit more than I would at home.
My family and I met up and we spent a lot of time looking at butterflies in the Botanic Gardens and the zoo, we seem to have butterflies on the brain! Hope you're getting to relax and take a break now or sometime soon, and you enjoy some good weather. I might write you a longer letter about all my favourite spots.
